Melissa began practicing yoga in 2010. She was looking for an outlet to help balance all her day-to-day tasks while reducing stress and countering her other workout activities. After her first vinyasa yoga flow class, she was hooked! She had found a place where she could let go and focus on her connection of mind, body, and spirit while also toning and strengthening her body. Melissa wanted to deepen her practice and learn more about the history and philosophy behind yoga and signed up for her 200-hour teacher training at Breathing Room in 2013. She has since received her Children’s Yoga training through Well Heart Yoga, and Restorative Yoga Teacher Training with Margo Rosingana. Whether it is your first time walking into a yoga class, or you have been practicing for years, Melissa hopes that each student is able to come to class, let go of their busy lives, and become reconnected to their breath and body.
Melissa currently instructs our Friday classes at the South Portland Community Center and occasionally substitutes for our studio classes.
